Porcelain Veneers
If your teeth are crooked, chipped, discolored, or have large spaces between them, porcelain veneers are a simple and beautiful solution to give you the smile you've always dreamed of. Veneers are thin, ceramic shells that are custom-shaped and colored before being bonded to the front surfaces of your natural teeth. Once the porcelain veneers are in place, they create a perfect smile in as few as two office visits.
As with most dental restorations, veneers are not permanent and will someday have to be replaced. They are very durable and will last many years, giving you a beautiful long lasting smile.
Reasons for porcelain veneers:
- Cosmetically, to create a uniform, white, beautiful smile
- Crooked teeth
- Misshapen teeth
- Severely discolored or stained teeth
- Teeth that are too small or large
- Unwanted or uneven spaces
- Worn or chipped teeth
What does getting porcelain veneers involve?
The veneer process is relatively simple. Getting veneers usually requires two visits to complete the process. Dr. Swantkowski will conservatively shape your teeth, create a mold of your mouth, and fit you with temporary restorations. From that mold our highly qualified lab will create your custom shaped and colored porcelain veneers. At the following appointment your porcelain veneers will be permanently bonded and placed.
When the process is complete, the porcelain veneers will look, feel, and function exactly as normal teeth. Using the same dental hygiene routine recommended to keep your teeth healthy, your porcelain veneers will last for many years to come.
